Description
- LEATHER MATE is excellent for most smooth finished leathers (Shiny surfaced leathers). Cars, SUVs, RVS, Boats or any other vehicles that need leather restoration.
- LEATHER MATE will be enjoyed by the whole family on boots, shoes, saddles, bridles, sofas, jackets, white running shoes. vinyl, etc. It can also be used on snakeskin and alligator.
- [LEATHER MATE should not be used on suede. pigskin, lambskin. nubuck, buckskin or other soft porous leathers such as sheep-skin.] If you are unsure whether LEATHER MATE can be used on your leather, simply test a small less visible part of the leather.
CAUTION: May darken some leathers. All our products have been subjected to exhaustive testing. However, since every leather is unique. both in terms of the raw materials, products employed and tanning methods used in its preparation, we recommend that a color resistance test be made on a less visible part of the article prior to the application of any leather care product.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Open jar.
- Remove sponge.
- Remove inside cover and scrape bottom of cover into jar.
- If the oil and wax have separated, replace the inside cover and shake jar. (DO NOT throw away inside cover at anytime.)
- Let jar sit open for 5 to 10 minutes until LEATHER MATE forms a paste.
- Dip the applicator sponge into the jar. Scrape off all excess product on the inside of the lip of the jar so that the sponge simply looks damp. ( YOU CANNOT USE TOO LITTLE!)
- If more product is required, repeat the step above.
- When finished applying LEATHER MATE replace the inside cover, put the lid on the jar and seal it tightly.
- Wash out the sponge with lukewarm water only (no soap) and let it sit on top of the closed jar until completely dry. ( DO NOT PUT WET SPONGE BACK IN THE JAR)
IMPORTANT: Let sponge dry completely before using it with LEATHER MATE again.
HOW TO TREAT SALT-DAMAGED LEATHERS:
If you have damaged your leather with salt. the following procedure will return it to NEAR new condition:
- Place hot damp towel over salt-damaged area of leather and leave for several hours or overnight. A shoe tree will work well or fill with newspapers for keeping the form of footwear.
- Apply one or two applications of LEATHER MATE and let dry.
- Repeat the steps above until all of the salt has been removed.
